The West Cumberland Road Extension is complete and gives Tyler residents’ better access to Faulkner Park and the Tyler Police Substation. This $18 million dollar project has been funded by the City of Tyler through the ½ cent Sales Tax.
City Engineers worked closely with Brannon Engineers, Bob Breedlove and Rea Boudreaux, on the design of this 2.4 mile stretch of road that provides a 4 lane arterial connection between S. Broadway Avenue (TX Hwy 69) and Old Jacksonville Hwy. (FM 2493). Features of the project include a hike and bike trail varying between 5 and 10 feet in width and an 850 foot bridge over West Mud Creek.
